Introduction

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that works as a universal connector between AI assistants and external systems. Put simply, it is a secure bridge that lets AI read data and work with your company tools in real time. With BrandCloud MCP, you connect your AI assistant (such as Claude or another agent) directly to your brand asset storage. No more clicking through folders, downloading files and uploading them into a chat. Just tell the assistant what you are working on, and it uses the context to find, check and suggest exactly the logos, photos or visuals you need.

Key benefits

• Find anything with a single sentence. A negative logo, the current price list or campaign photos: the AI searches folders, smartpages and files and returns direct links, or downloads the files right away.
• Answers straight from your documents. The AI also searches the text of uploaded PDFs, such as your logo manual, and links to the specific file.
• Output that follows your brand manual. The AI reads colors (HEX, RAL, Pantone), fonts and even tone of voice from your smartpages instead of making them up.
• An overview without clicking around. One question tells you what was uploaded or published in the past week.
• BrandCloud across your whole workflow. An AI agent connects BrandCloud with your files, email, Slack or Drive and sees the task through to the end.

Security and permissions

MCP is currently read-only. Writing changes back to BrandCloud will be added later, with safeguards so that human error cannot cause irreversible changes.

• Your own account. Everyone signs in with their own BrandCloud account via OAuth 2.0, with no shared keys.
• The AI sees exactly what you see. It respects your permissions and locked elements. Without download rights, the AI cannot access a file.
• Traceable activity. When the AI reads a smartpage, it is recorded in the view statistics and in your recently viewed items, just like opening it manually.
• AI image descriptions are generated when Mistral AI is enabled (France, EU hosting, GDPR-compliant processing under a DPA). The descriptions are not shown in the BrandCloud interface; only the search agent uses them.
• The content of your queries is processed by the provider of the AI tool you use, under the terms of your plan.
• Can be switched off at any time. The BrandCloud administrator turns MCP on or off separately for each domain.
